Perth Fashion Festival Restyle Challenge

Thursday, July 11, 2013

The rest of the world's fashion festivals really ought to take a leaf from Perth Fashion Festival's book, with their initiative to promote second hand and recycled fashion.

This August, the team behind Perth Fashion Festival are working with a handful of Perth fashion bloggers in a restyle challenge, styling op shopped outfits throughout the month to promote and celebrate second hand fashion.

The idea is to inspire active members on social media to take part in daily prompts to share op shopped outfits on twitter, facebook, blogs and instagram with the hashtag #restyle2013

The instantaneous global reach of social media means that Perth Fashion Festival's August Restyle challenge need not begin and end in Western Australia, anyone around the world can take part.  Will you?

The use of social media is just limitless! It extends across borders and it is now being used a way of sharing valuable information including hard core news. Perth Fashion Festival has utilized social media to its advantage and I have seen the shares and re-tweets of the events from its followers. I think the virality Perth FF’s created was commendable and should be a good example using their followers experience and interest in fashion and recycling.
