Wardrobe Weekender - Sustainable Fashion Event

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

Melbourne fashion folk take note, the Wardrobe Weekender, a three-day festival of all things eco-fashion, will take place in Barkly Square this weekend.

As seen in Melbourne Times Weekly; “The great thing about Brunswick is that the area is so receptive to things that are a little left of centre. I think that’s why so many designers have found a home in the area,” says the founder and director of Sustainable Fashion Australia, Lara McPherson.

The Wardrobe Weekender celebrates the $17 million refurbishment of Barkly Square with pop-up shops, Take2Markets, upcycled workshops (hosted by Recycled Fashion, Fourth Daughter and The Treasury) and exhibitions, including McPherson’s Melbourne leg of the clothes-swapping event The Clothing Exchange.

The full program can be seen here.
