Pattern mixing, means wearing more than one pattern in one outfit. Angie on youlookfab writes
"If you have a creative, bohemian, romantic or arty element to your style, you’ll probably appreciate the effect. If you prefer your outfits to look extra clean and crisp, you’ll probably prefer very subtle forms of pattern mixing, if at all".
It is possible for pattern mixing to go disastrously wrong, but it can also be a lot of fun. I enjoyed choosing pattern clashes from my thrifted wardrobe for this challenge; my recent resized yellow floral flares, coupled with a resized thrifted black floral halter top, fitted striped blazer and vintage boots.

My son is the champion pattern mixer - he's 6 and left to his own devices dresses like Andre 3000!
I can't bring myself to do it! I have strict fashion rules I stick to. No navy and black no black and brown and no red and pink.
But good on you for breaking the rules.

great thrifted outfit. So smart and classy! Can't get enough of those floral jeans.

I like to think I have the boho vibe going on but I just can't get patterns to work together. I'm rather talented at making them look as hideous as possibly in fact - maybe I should start a new trend on doing the worst patter/colour mix humanly capable?? p.s. I never post those disasters - my understanding other half draws the line there!! :)

I love those flares! They will be fantastic for summer. Funnily enough, I wore flares today too. Must be something in the air. Flare-air??
