Poncho in summer, and a recycled brooch

Thursday, February 3, 2011

In the midst of Melbourne's hot summer, why I am wearing a poncho? Well, I am joining in with Every Man, Woman, and Child weekly post by Danielle over at noguiltfashion. This week her fashion topic is capes and ponchos

A poncho gifted to me by my Mum. A gift of which I am grateful, for it will keep me warm in the future cooler months of Melbourne's harsh winter; May - September.

Jeans: my all time favourite straight leg slim fit grey Diesel jeans, 9yrs old
Shoes: Purple flats, $4 op shop
Brooch: handmade with recycled materials

I mentioned in my last blog post that I purchased an old pattern from Mornington's Outlook Environmental Recycle Market, to create a brooch, and here it is.

It is actually a gift for a friend, with more information on how to make it on my other blog.

Do you find yourself buying second hand clothing out of season? Jumpers and coats in summer, or t-shirts, shorts and skirts in winter? Out of season clothing can quite often be found on the half price rack in thrift shops!
