What’s it all about?

Whether your a crafty type or not, most of us have access to unwanted fabric, either old and torn clothes from your wardrobe, an old pillowcase, or annoying fabric scraps leftover from various sewing projects. This workshop will show you how to put that otherwise useless fabric to good use to make an oversized rosette brooch either for yourself or a gift.

What will you learn?

This workshop will show you how to turn little pieces of material into rosette flowers using a simple twisting technique, pins, and a needle and thread. You can wear your handmade brooch on your lapel, to brighten up a handbag, or attach a hair pin and wear in your hair. At last, something useful to make with fabric scraps that may otherwise end up in the bin!

Who will be teaching?

Erica - Recycled Fashion

Erica likes to make new things out of old, recyclable or otherwise wasteful material. A quote from her blog, (Recycled Fashion); “fashion doesn’t have to cost the earth, environmentally or financially”. Erica rarely buys new, preferring to buy second hand in op shops and markets across Melbourne. She sources recycled material for her craft projects and enjoys teaching other people how to save fabric from landfill to make eco-friendly DIY products too.
