Secondhand Fashion on Quicksales

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

Some secondhand shoppers prefer the anonymity and convenience of shopping online when choosing pre-loved fashion.

The usual websites we'd expect to find secondhand fashion offer vintage and preloved clothing direct from independent sellers, most of which are individuals clearing their wardrobes for a bit of extra cash; a recycled win-win for all!

It is exciting to browse a new (to me) website that trades in pre-loved goods, particularly one that advertises listings for free. Quicksales is an Australian website owned and operated website, a marketplace to browse, buy, and sell just about anything.

There are thousands of listings for clothing and accessories found on Quicksales, not all of which are secondhand but there is an option to search for 'used'. Here are some interesting pieces that I've found by searching through the 'vintage' category:

:: Antique Black Felt Spats c1900 for $35 ::

 :: Oroton Gold Glomesh Purse c1950 for $32 ::

:: Heil Koala Scarf c1970 $15 ::

::Qantas Carry-on Bag c1970 $25 ::

Vintage fashion pieces make up quite a small portion of secondhand clothes found on Quicksales, if labels are more your thing, there are plenty of higher end designer fashion pieces listed on the site:

 :: Paul Smith "The Westbourne" Suit $500 (starting bid) ::

:: Vivienne Westwood Lace Up Heels Sz 9 $50 ::

:: Karen Millen Yellow Shift Dress Sz 12 $119 ::

Another interesting focus to Quicksales is their Resale Revival promotion, which is an ongoing campaign aimed at 'regifting'; a great way to sell unwanted gifts.

Next time you're keen to sell or browse online pre-loved fashion, it might be worth adding Quicksales to your list of websites to try out?

I am checking it out today! (although the shopping may be prohibitive, yes?). Thanks, Erica!
