Junky Styling London - Cosy Collars

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

This is not the first time Junky Styling has made an appearance on Recycled Fashion, and will certainly not be the last.

Charity shops and jumble sales are the chosen source of second hand traditional suits to deconstruct and redesign for the clever British duo, who have come forth with new collar designs in their range, made from upcycled men's suit jackets, and lined with wool jumpers:

Cosy collars are being sold at a sale price of £60 down to £45 for the month of January.

A comfortable yet stylish accessory to wear during cooler weather I'm sure you'll agree.  The red lined collar being my personal favourite, what do you think, readers?

I agree, the red is fab -- and if we have a day of cool weather, I'd love to wear one of these! : >

Love those collars. I'd definitely wear one; they'd be great for bike riding!

This reminds me of one of my earliest unintentional refashions. When I was in high school, my family had very little income so school uniform was not a priority. In those days we had to wear a blue shirt under a school emblemed windcheater. So many times I got hauled into the deputy principals office for incorrect uniform. My radical solution was to grab one of my father's old shirts and cut out the collar until the shoulders. This cut out piece was then worn under my sweatshirt with the collar visible. Problem solved and it got the deputy principal off my back.In those days there was very little understanding for families in difficult financial circumstances......Anyway, Junky Styling versions are much nicer and better made than my schoolgirl version.
