The party was sure to attract an eclectic mix of Melbourne's trendy folk, and quite rightly so, featuring a DJ spinning top tunes, alcoholic drinks, BBQ food, superb views of Melbourne's beautiful skyline, and a room dedicated to second hand donated clothes, available to buy throughout the night.
Being that it is the day after the night before, and the video for last nights event is yet to be published, you can view last year's Doss Blockos Op Shop Party 2011 here, to get a feel for the night:
With the perfect excuse for an op shop night out, Melbourne Bloggers I Love To Op Shop, A Little Boutique Near Home and I headed to Doss Blockos Op Shop Party together. On entry, we were given our ticket, resembling that of a concert gig, which we'd pre-ordered online.
Earrings, $4 a pair
Whilst we did find it very hard to move around in the small room displaying second hand clothing for sale, the party was well organised, and lots of fun.
Massive line up to pay/reimburse our vouchers for clothing
To be perfectly honest, I did not go with the intention to buy anything, but, I did find a pair of second hand black cuban heeled boots, that I didn't know I needed, till I saw them last night! $12 a pair, which I could use my $20 ticket reimbursement for. Brilliant.
Well done Prahran Mission for organising a fun way to op shop out of hours, raising much needed funds to support those living with mental illness.
