With the exception of one talented lady, who also refashions her clothes, and came along to the talk yesterday morning (so good to meet you Mezzy!), most of yesterday's audience emphasised that they'd all love to try their own refashion projects, but finding the time is the hardest of all.
There's no easy solution to find time in our busy lives, we have to make time. Give yourself at least an evening, or one afternoon a week, that you dedicate to your craft or sewing projects. Perhaps look into a craft group you could join, and that way, you'll know you won't be distracted by housework, television, your children or pets! If you wait until everything is done, you'll rarely have time to do anything.
My son got quite sick earlier in the week, he's better now, but we had a few days where he did not leave the couch and needed lots of comfort. I found I could do a little hand sewing whilst comforting him, and made another fabric scrap brooch / hair pin. Here it is..
Which matches my restyled Vietnamese shirt
For Melbourne based readers, that may be interested in how to make one of these brooches, I am running a class at Laneway Learning on Tuesday 28th August. Sooner than that, I'm also running a Bayside Brighton Op Shop Tour next Saturday 11th August.
Back to the topic, how to find the time to refashion, to sew, or to craft? Its a real juggle, but personally, I take any opportunity I can get! Do you find it hard to find the time to sew or craft?
