And there it is, two weeks in the making, a belt made from empty cleaned chip packets.
The reverse silver side of chip (and nut) packaging is folded together in a weaving technique taught at The Junk Wave's recycled craft workshop last month.

The thin black belt you see I picked up for 30c from the op shop. Using a glue gun, I've glued weaved chip packets onto the black belt, so it can be fastened at the front. An upcycled, recycled belt..

Love it - well done! Any chance of a tutorial?
That is incredible - I would never have guessed those were chip packets.

Very nicely done! I had guessed candy wrappers, so I wasn't too far off, but you still amaze me!

@Penny-Rose - there is an online tutorial that can be found on this site which gives you more of an idea on the weaving technique used > http://www.candywrapperpurse.blogspot.com.au/
Holy crap, this is so cool!
Wow! Erica your belt is amazing! What a cool idea. It does feel good to make something out of nothing; and your example is totally brilliant!
That is awesome! At first I even thought it was some type of metal, but it was not. What a great way to recycle indeed. :) Rocking!
It's beautiful! Here's a tutorial for that technique...
