Instead, I took to browsing op shop clothing racks for an interesting colour or pattern, and found this short sleeve XL shirt in Savers. Boring shape, great print.
I had enough fabric to completely re-construct the shirt into a Sorbetto blouse. I wear the blouse to show how it looks now, although bear in mind it is not actually made to fit me.
So there it is, a gift of a refashion. Readers, I've wondered how you might feel on giving, or receiving, a gift of a thrift refashion? Would it depend on the person receiving? Would you feel frugal giving a refashioned garment? I have deliberated such questions, but I consider the time, and thought gone into making a personal piece, and remove my doubts. How do you feel about a thrift refashion gift?

I would love it because it was made just for me. Some people might not want a refashioned item, so I do think it depends on the person.
Very pretty refashion.
I agree that it depends on the person and i too would love it because the time you put in was especially for me. You are incredibly talented.
It would be the best gift!
Well, this fabric is such a great print, so I'm sure the recipient is going to be thrilled! I love it with the buttons up the back, instead of the front. Little unexpected touches like this are what elevates a design.
thanks for sharing, you turned a dowdy shirt into a cute top! Well done.

I say - bring it on. haha- although I am deeply particular about clothes. My friend and I often give each other little bundles of opshop finds as gifts...great as we are not the same size, so if we find something cool that would fit the other one...and if we don't like it, it gets passed on, or re-opshopped.
