I decided, I didn't really like the fit of my DKNY trousers (pants) I thrifted a few weeks ago for ($7 Salvos), as seen worn
here. I found them just a bit too baggy, and not really my style. So, I decided to adjust them to skinny 'bootleg', similar to the way I adjusted my
yellow flares. Here is how:
Before
Lied flat, turned inside out, I used chalk to draw a line to the fit I would prefer...
Run them through the sewing machine, sewing around 1/2 inch away from chalk line, tried on to make sure they fit OK, cut off excess, and serged new seems with overlocker.
New fit

Wow, Erica, you are talented. Love the new silhouette, and love the blue shoes too!
A great idea, thanks for sharing. I am currently wearing a pair of pants that could use some tailoring. I am a new follower.
You're getting good at this! Is it really that simple? Draw a line and stitch it? Also, a very good op-shop find.
@stitchybritt - seriously, it really is that easy, try it!
Oooh I have to try this!
Wow, thank your for sharing this. I am new to sewing and this will help me so much.
