I've made my own version of an Ikat dress, from a pastel coloured table cloth purchased for $2 from a trash and treasure market.

Using the Collette Sorbetto pattern for the top half of my dress, pink bias tape around the neckline, and blue on the sleeves, adding extra length to make it a dress, and an elastic waist.
Tut, should have ironed, but you get the idea.

Sass & Bide $590
My version approximately $2.20

P.S. How OVERPRiCED is that Sass and Bide dress? Waaaaaah.
I love it! What's funny is I can sew but have no idea how to follow a pattern... never looked at one so that might help.

Thanks for your comment on my blog - your dress looks so lovely - great refashion too! I think your table cloth must have been related to my sarong...
So adorable! What a great pattern and a super cute dress!
