A hat for soaring temperatures

Tuesday, February 1, 2011

Here in Melbourne, temperatures have tipped the 40 deg C mark of late. My family and I have been heading down to the beach to take advantage of Port Phillip Bay's cool ocean water, whilst temperatures peak.

We stopped for lunch in Flinders today, on the other side of the peninsula, almost a ghost town with temperatures keeping most sane people in their air conditioned houses. Mum and I stop for a cheeky visit to the local opportunity shop, where I buy myself a straw hat for $2.50, perfect for such a hot day, when I left my summer hat at home.
