I made a bangle!

Can you guess what I used to make my bangle? Well, the base of it is made from this:

Yep, a plastic bottle. This is not the actual plastic bottle I used, because I forgot to take a 'before' photo before I cut it up into sections..

And cut to shape...

Thrifted material from the op-shop..

Cut and machine stitched, with some leftover lace in-between the layers..

Turned inside out (the stitching and shearing on the inside) leaving a gap to thread the plastic bottle base through, and blanket stitched by hand once inside..

An easy, cost effective, recycled bangle, made in less than 15 minutes!

Thank you! In fact, I came up with the idea after seeing other plastic bottle bracelets I'd seen online, so go right ahead, I'd love to see your end result xox

I love this idea, especially because it creates a use from something I'd only throw in the recycle bin. I'd love for you to link up to my Make Share post that I'm writing tomorrow. It should be live some time tomorrow.
Cool apron girl, I'll link it tomorrow, thanks for all your nice comments ladies, makes me smile x
Clever clever girl!!!!! Love the idea..
So cute. I love the fabric. Thank you so much for including my button and for linking to my linky party!
just don't grill when wearing it...:)
zombiemommy - yes, good point!
Love it. Another thing to add to my to do list :P
Oh my goodness!!! How clever! I love it. It makes me want to go make one RIGHT NOW :) That's what I love about recycled/upcycled creations; the possibilities are endless!
Came over from Selena's Make Share. I love the idea. We try not to use bottled water very often, but with the amount of car travel over the past few months, we've had more of those plastic bottles around than I care to admit. What a fun solution!
so many nice comments, thank you so much! I want to make some more now :)
Oh, that is a cool idea! It keeps its shape better than a toilet paper roll. :) Thanks for visiting my blog!! :)

I'm actually going to do this post. I found a DIY for bottle cuffs a while ago on another site, and it put it in my repertoire. I'm so happy I found your technique though. I will be giving you major kudos in my next post! Grazi chickadee :)
