The fabric instantly drew my attention, from a distance it could be any old floral print, but take a closer look and it reminds me of that classic 80's videogame.....
As mentioned before, this dress is handmade so there are no tags. I am not sure if it is vintage, or vintage inspired, but that doesn't matter. Trying it on in Salvos, I had to see past those frills and its length. It is a maxi dress you see, and maxi dresses on a short-arse look like tents.
So, it is off with those frills, and hack off the length. Looky here, I found a little helper..
A quick tidy up of the bottom hem, stitch up the armholes, and here it is, a 'new' computerised flower mini dress. Much less tent-like, and so much better without the frilly arms

Great print, love the restyle as well
Love that print! Very space invaders indeed, but why do cats do that as soon as you try and do anything on the floor? Using a tape measure can be a very frustrating experience in my household!
I know, its funny isnt it, as soon as anything goes onto the floor, the cat is all over it!
OOh I would have snapped this one up too - love the print. I don't suit maxis and I would do the same - chop, chop!
Well that looks great - the fabric actually reminds me of those graphs for cross stitch patterns! Hee hee - that camo tent dress gives a whole new meaning to "tent dress" which by the way were very fashionable in the mid-70's - especially when worn with white ankle socks and desert boots .... ah good times! I wore one to my first ever rock concert - Rod Stewart - A Night on the Town Tour. egads - they may well have been too much info!
The dress is adorable (and so's the cat -- looks exactly like my Leo!)
Love the dress, that pixelated print is fabulous. You did a great job and I love how that cat lent a helping paw. x
Sue - haha, it might be too much info.. but a good insight into 70's fashion... Maxi dresses with white ankle socks, now thats interesting!
Glad to see my cat has some recognition for her work also, meow! x
