Pre-loved Children’s Clothes
Sunday, May 23, 2010
We all know children grow out of their clothes faster than a caterpillar changes into a butterfly, so, as a mother, I just can’t bring myself to spend so much money on new children’s clothes. It never ceases to amaze me that the price of children’s wear can be comparable to the cost of adult clothing.
Winter is coming, so imagine my luck when I found this cosy Country Road grey hoodie for $5 at a pre-loved children’s market at Chelsea Heights community centre. Ok, so the cuffs were a little grubby, but a good wash with the SARD wonder soap and it’s come up good as new. This would have cost me around $50-60 new.
Chelsea Heights Pre-loved Market is on 4 times a year on a Saturday morning. It is extremely popular, expect to start queuing to get in from around 8.15am; the doors open at 9am. It can get really chaotic, so if you don’t like crowds, don’t go. But if you’re happy for a rummage, elbows out and away you go. Advice; don’t take your pram, and leave the kids at home.
Address: Chelsea Heights Community Centre, 160 Thames Promenade, Chelsea Heights 3196
Next market date: July 17th http://www.chelseaheightscommunitycentre.com.au/
